I've heard the Corona grinder is the best but it seems to be hard to find. I'm new to storing grains and grinding for food production. Any recommendations on brands I could get a grinder for corn, wheat, etc.?
Ebay and Amazon both have corona mills pretty cheap. I would wonder if there's a way to adapt it to fit an electric drill, just in case. I have a Barley Crusher with hand-crank and it fits up nice for a drill. I'm told it can't crack corn, but someday I'll probably give it a try. Crankandstein is supposed to be able to do both.
Country Living is probably the best but very expensive, over $400.00. I have two, (two is one and one is none). The VKP 1012, costs around $65.00, small hopper but does work and the wonder mill junior that is much better but costs a lot more. They are over $200.00 now but I paid a lot less several years ago. A lot is going to depend on expectations but I can assure you that you will not get the type of flour you are used to from a single pass thru the grinder and be prepared for a workout
I have the Country Living and yep, its a workout. We have hundreds of pounds of wheat berries stored, so either we're going to ensure our supply lasts for 25 years by not using it, or I am going to have the most toned arms in all of Armageddon. Seriously though, I do have to run the grain through a couple times to get it fine enough to use for baking bread. Considering adding a motor, or connecting it to a stationary bike with a drive belt so I get nice toned legs too.😜😜

I just LOVE my Wonder Mill! It grinds everything. I have the electric one (for good times) and the manual Wonder Mill Junior (for bad times).
