A month ago I took a 5 gallon bucket of food over to a prepper buddy’s house for him to store in case I ever need to bug out temporarily. Don’t intend to show up empty handed. One of the items was Dutch oven bread mix (flour, salt, sugar, yeast) and small jars of jalapeño chiles. We rotate meeting sites each month and I’ll be back over to his place in another month and a half at which time we’ll break open the bucket and try out some of what’s inside. It dawned on me after I left that I had forgotten a can opener. One more reason to actually practice ahead of time to expose any deficiencies while fixes can still be made.

Good reminder!
We bought multiple small foldable military-style can openers, and have them in all of our BOBs, and with our food stash. Hopefully, redundancy helps if we're forgetful with the "normal" can opener.
i believe the P38 and P51 military can openers are good but a little annoying to use...
If all you have is a fixed blade knife it will open cans pretty quickly. So don't sweat the small stuff adapt!
