Is some type of food preparation required before storing it into mylar bags? I am looking into storing rice, beans, wheat, and corn long term but concerned about insect eggs hatching and multiplying in the food after storing it. I've seen Bear add DiatomaceousEarth to his grain to kill off any insects and/or contaminants inside but doesn't seem to use it in other videos. Is this the right method or does it matter? I've also heard about some people freezing their rice to achieve the same thing, I'm not sure if this works. Long story short... how do you prevent insects from multiplying/hatching in the food after storing it?
