First Aid is always a big subject, with our IFAK’s and Blow Out kits etc, and of course Tourniquets!
But treating burns is something I rarely ever see anything about , I understand in a grid down situation someone with severe third-degree burns is pretty much done for, even with the best of care under normal circumstances those folks have a poor chance .
Just like bumps , cuts and scrapes that we suffer all the time in normal activities we also encounter these minor to medium first and second-degree burns .
Around the house and in my medical kits I do have some first aid for those situations. I use a product called BURN FREE it’s a clear liquid/ / gel comes in a tube or small tear off squeeze packets and also in the larger sheet like applications that are wrapped in foil packages . This stuff really works quite well just put it directly on it definitely removes all of the sting and cools the area.
Anyone else address this in their kits / supplies?
DISCLAIMER. I have no affiliation with his company just stating what use
I keep Silvadene in my kit. The Burn Free sounds good and I will be checking that out!
That is a great topical after burn treatment that will help keep down infection. Honey-dine can also help if there is skin left.
Where can you buy Silvadene Creme, please?

The Silvadene cream I have was by prescription, but these on Amazon are similar. If you can get a doctor to prescribe it, you're good for a long while. The stuff doesn't go bad.
Just FYI I got the Burn Free from Emergency Essentials
DISCLAIMER. AGAIN. I have nothing to do with that company either, just listing a Source.
I have used Burn Free and it works well. It has a decent amount of pain reliever in it.
During SHTF we will be boiling water, moving it and cooking in many unconventional ways. Heating and camp fires also increase our risks. This is a large and expensive kit but My family and I are worth it. If I can get this applied quickly, it may make the difference. Water Jel makes many different individual packs and other kits.
I wish I had seen this forum post earlier! I touched the inside handle of the wood stove with my right elbow area and MAN OH MAN does that hurt! Tried to bandage it, but it just pulled off the skin and now it's an oozing mess about 3 inches long. So I cleaned it up and put an Adaptic strip on it, covered that with a gauze pad and taped it in place. The Adaptic won't stick and has some pain reliever in it. So far, so good. I will have to get some of the Burn Free and the burn dressings for my medical tote. I just may be needing them. Shalom!
If you have just done this recently, I'd give the doc a call now and get some of it onto you. It works so fast in the healing dept.. Good luck! I tripped and skated my right fore arm across the top of a woodstove years ago. I know your pain and I would also suggest taking some turmeric for the pain and inflammation. It doesn't work immediately, but it does help with getting it gone.
@Haunted55 I do have turmeric, so i will try that. It doesn't really hurt right now, since I put the Adaptic on it, so I'm good there. My doc isn't in on Fridays, so....I may just call and go on Monday! Thanks Haunted! Shalom!
