I like to go camping on occasion.
And in doing so, as with prepping and doing the things we do, one must plan ahead and assess situations, risks, and probabilities of events happening, and wear and tear.
Do you have a repair kit for your tent, tarp, bug-net, etc?
Gore Tex patches?
Patches for your sleeping pad?
Tent pole repair kit?
(usually a short section of tent pole to slide over a busted joint–this can also double or be used as a bellows for your fire starting kit and cheaper than commercial bellows)
I usually keep a decent repair kit at home and take with me when car camping and have a mini kit for backpacking. It has come in handy more times than not, and even when I didn’t need I had the assurance of it. Recently I was preparing for a minor outing and had picked up some new gear that I needed to modify and get trail ready. I went to my kit, as I had needed some things, I had forgotten to resupply that I had used up. While restocking my kit at the local big box camp store I picked up a few other repair pieces designed for specific gear my wife had recently acquired. Also there were some things on sale and clearance in the gear modification/repair section of the store, that was a small blessing.
The Father has given us wisdom to prepare, keep doing the things!
