Holidays are the saddest times of the year for some, coupled with food shortage, war footing, job loss and the upcoming election, no one knows what June will bring, let alone the holidays.
We MAY see my wife's folks but not mine. Both of my parents have passed, I want NOTHING to do with my older Sister, and my Younger Sister is in Phoenix; which MAY be getting locked down again very soon!
Yes I was thinking the same specially with so much animal culling perhaps no turkey let alone ham, people will probably resort to canned meat if any left . Sigh
At this moment, MOST Dollar Tree stores DO have tuna can tin sized containers of Turkey. I know its NOT the same, but very likely what my wife and I will be doing. Its getting to the point where we may NOT see her Family this year-because the trip home is and hour and a half of driving after dark in Oregon's Coastal Mountains. IF we go to see them, I WILL TRAVEL ARMED!
Around here it would be just the same. Whatever grows in the garden at that time, coupled with canned goods. Fresh dough products are a must and a Turkey we raise ourselves (already picked that buggar out of our flock) ... at the end we will NOT sell any pigglets this year, therefore we may have some sucklings ready to roast by Thanksgiving...
Isn't it interesting that all the Governors (and their families' and friends) who are ordering lockdowns and shutting off "non essentials" will have full bellies this Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Parks in AZ are starting to fill with displaced families. I imagine the holidays will be hard for MANY reasons.

No food shortages in Holiday fare in our Nation's Capitol. I know exactly where we can find 535 TURKEYS!
