I was hoping to find others in the Northwest, I'm in North Idaho on the panhandle. Our growing season is considerably different than yours. Hope your gardening/homesteading is going well. Let us know if you have any secrets to share regarding gardening. Good techniques, websites, books, etc.
Thanks, y’all as well. Sure. Companion planting can be beneficial. If you plant certain things with others they help each other fight different pests and fungi. For instance garlic goes well with several crops. There’s also the three sisters method, planting pole beans, corn and squash together. Some folks even add sunflowers to the mix. There’s different configurations for the three sisters method, I’m not sure which would be best for your region. I’d have to get back with you on books, I’m not home right now and don’t remember the titles/authors. MIgardener has a few methods for natural pest control among many other tips and tricks. Like Bear mentioned, if you can’t find seeds, plant your pantry. Some but not all seeds from store bought produce are viable. Many seed companies have some good pointers on their websites though I don’t necessarily trust some of the planting schedules.
Welcome! I think you'll like it here. Lots and lots of great people and knowledgeable as well!
Thanks!
Glad to see you hanging around, Welcome.
What growing region are you located in?
Be welcome and please share whatever may help another. Ask questions, if you have them!
Hey y’all. @ddavis83864 I’m in south Texas, 9b. @JS Badger thanks, will do!
