We've been up, here on the forum, for a bit, and just seeing how everyone is progressing on their preps and life in general. Praying y'all are doing well.
Thankful to the Father everyday for His provision and Faithfulness. He is a Good Father. Learning how to use local wild edibles for food and medicine. Taking my bow to the range. Getting stronger and more fit walking Hills Every day.
Super busy... new biz, learning Torah, fall feasts, etc. but I did put up 10lbs of salt and 20lbs of rIce last week. Got my first sharpening stone and a new knife for my birthday too. . Little by little
JS, I think we need to spin this particular thread up. I know, it's hard as it doesn't have the words ammo or guns in the description. Still, lots of things are building up and it would be a very good place to keep an eye on the heartbeat of where we are at. I'll do what I can to make it happen.
Doing ok and now a some of the things have happened. I knew it was here for few months. The news of the world i felt. now some of it is out i fell a small relief but not recovered. it is not over..haunted55 will know what I mean. Later laying low
I bought 600# of beans today just in case this thing lingers or blows up in our faces. Still almost futile to go to grocery stores in Denver, CO Springs, or Pueblo. If you can, tap into your local farmers. Great resource and appreciative of the business.
On the phone so please excuse. It’s 3:30 am and I’am still awake on the east coast. So much on my mind, so much to do so much that needs to get done. it’s the sabbath and i can’t get my mind to stop !!! I know I should just pray for strength! GRRR need to get my mind to stop
We are doing fantastic! However, quick question. Has anybody else noticed fast food restaurants dropping a significant amount of items?McDonald's here dropped about half their menu including no more 24hour breakfast.
Can give some info here. We went from about 25 items on our menu (not fast food, but we do guarantee same-day service) to around 10. It is by design, as I manage the menu. I need to be able to minimize food orders to cut grocery costs, but also to minimize waste. Same thing applies to fast food. Frozen fries and hamburger patties store indefinitely, and I have beef and whatnot stacked. But I cant buy a 25 pound case of lettuce to only throw away 20 pounds of it. Tomatoes available via foodservice last a week, 10 days tops before they get tossed. So it is more about streamlining food costs than from possible shortages.
@FoodForThoughts yeah, they are higher food cost items. We went from a kitchen crew of 8 to 3. I'm working 25-ish hours per week instead of 50. Even drive through restaurants are getting hammered right now. we do carry out only, but last sunday I think they did literally $15.50 in sales. So every type of restaurant is having to tighten its belt
Have just joined Bear , I feel blessed, thankful. I am currently in the state of Ky, continue to pray my daughters see the writing on the wall. Long days and nights.. generating disposable coin, to buy things some people think are ridiculous..

@PastorOfMuppets makes sense And yes, they dropped salads, but also desserts and other "frozen items" chicken fingers, etc. ...
