Nearest hospital in many places is over one hour drive. Small local communities have depleting EMT squads due to population decrease. Small communities are old families going back to early 1800's settlers. Political make up of the counties inside the Adirondack Blue Line is conservative. CC permits are easy to secure. Character of people is very much good ole country/mountain folk. Consider the signs; it may be too late to move to some ideal place. Not the Ozarks but a secret place overlooked.
