Husband is a 100% tdiu vet, we also have the VA housing grant for loss of use of limbs. Looking in these 3 states for various reasons... homeschool laws, some of the lowest crime rates in the country, low or no housing taxes, nice people, guns laws (poo poo Virginia), and how states honor disabled veterans. We have 7 kiddos. We are in our 30s.
I am very familiar with Virginia. Yea the government stinks. But it does have perks, like 100% vets don't pay property taxes ever on their primary residence. Easy to homeschool. Easy weather. Beautiful. Very low crime, not too populated.
Wisconsin, awesome people! Better houses, seriously, beautifully built homes there. Kudos Wisconsin! Easy peasy homeschool. Gun laws better than VA. Con...winter, pro...ain't that hot in summer.
Iowa is the one I don't know much about. I've only driven briefly through. I know the homeschool laws beat the other two. The taxes seemed not so bad. Very low crime rate! Good gun laws. Anyone want to give input on Iowa? Any Iowa preppers?
