FEMA regardless of what you think of the organization as a whole has some good resources in the form of free online education. FEMA Emergency Management Institute has several ISP Courses (independent study courses). 214 of them. Some of the courses include Multihazard Planning for Child Care, Fundamental of Risk Management, Emergency Planning, Effective Communication, Fundamental of Emergency Management, to name a few. I have taken a few of these courses when I was voluntold to be the Emergency Manager at my old unit. Take them for what they are. There are some good leadership courses, courses that can help you understand the logistics of emergency response as well the strain a disaster has on the supply chain. But even if you are not planning on taking a leadership roll in your MAG, Tribe, Group, one thing to remember is YOU are the leader for your family and are responsible for their preparedness. I hope this helps you all out. Shalom

I had actually started taking online FEMA courses as part of taking employment with a logistics company that coordinates with state resources and the Red Cross. Dry material at best lol.
Not something you would want to do first thing in the morning. Coffee or Monster should be a prerequisite.
