Doing a refi on my house to get at equity we’ve built up (in a subdivision). I want defensible land where I can live, garden, do the things... The problem is finding that perfect spot (geographic deterrents on three sides) with a decent house on it for sale. I live and work in a small town, but my current house is not where you’d want to Alamo!
I have found land for sale that fits the bill, but it’s just beyond a comfortable daily commute. So, which option would you choose:
Option A: Stay where I’m at and wait for the Good Lord to make a defensible house/property available within a decent commute to work
Option B: Buy the defensible land I found and put an off-grid cabin on it. Get there on most weekends to improve it as I can, cache, etc. It’d be the bug-out spot. An hour and 10 minutes/27 rugged miles away
Option C: Something I haven’t thought of yet, but I’m listening :)
