Baltimore Region Preparedness Group. Attendees: 8 returning; 4 new. Crypto (Jim) presented a great overview of the M.A.R.C.H algorithm adapted to a more civilian version of TCCC. There were scenarios interjected and throughout, examples of some of the components in a kit and participation was encouraged. We learned that M.A.R.C.H. is framework for prioritized trauma care. A prompt to address, in order, massive hemorrhage, airway control, respiratory support, circulation, hypothermia and head injury, M.A.R.C.H. is found in the tactical combat casualty care and advanced trauma life support courses, but is highly applicable to daily trauma care. We learned a lot and look forward to diving further into each one of the key points and practicing how to asses and use the tools in our med kits. We went on to a presentation of how to make a paracord bracelet by a very nice woman named Kathy and we all attempted to make one. It was actually a good time and we all had a laugh watching each other struggle with the complexity of the crocheting technique. All in all, this was a great success. It was just our third meet-up and we are already forming strong bonds and becoming more organized. Looking forward to 2021. Next Meet-Up is 10 JAN 2021 at 1pm (EST). Location TBD.
