My family is looking to make a move, in short order, from the PNW to the Mountain Home, AR area. Going to be needing to find a MAG in due time, but first we need to find a house! Anyone out in that neck of the woods know of anything for rent in the area? I've been in contact with a few realtors but haven't turned up anything we love...thinking that the word of mouth method and the reach of the Bear Nation might be beneficial at this point. If anyone has any leads, please let me know! Thanks so much!
Oh, should probably tell you what we're looking for...2-3 bedroom, 1-2 bathroom, pet friendly (2 dogs), ideally a little bit of property, and ideally not in the center of town. I'm not familiar with the layout of the area so it's made it difficult to search for houses not in MH proper. Thanks in advance!
Hi Lyla,
I'm actually also Realtor in MH and specialize in helping folks relocate through our Patriot Relocation Network, and I can tell you what you're looking for is almost non-existant here. You can get an apartment in town, you can get a house in town (expect to pay $950 and up for anything nice) and you may be able to find a mobile in a park, but in 6 months of living and working here, I have not been able to find 1 country rental that was really habitable. You can search MH, Gassville, Flippin, Yellville (that's pretty far west) Midway, Henderson, Salesville, Lakeview, Gamaliel, and Bull Shoals.
I would suggest you keep an eye on local papers (Ozarks Horse Trader, for example) and search out the Facebook groups. We are about 10 years behind electronically, so Facebook is the "big deal" here and where most people list items for sale/rent.
Best of luck!
I appreciate the information! I'm finding the same thing...a few things in town but not a whole lot as far as rural locations are concerned. Right now, I'm more worried about getting us relocated to the general area, and we can find something that might be a bit more desirable after the initial lease is up. I'm more than happy to pay whatever's necessary for a decent house - moving from IWashington state, the rent prices are amazingly reasonable in comparison, I'm interested in this Patriot Relocation Network you mentioned...never heard of it, but sounds like something my other half and I might be interested in if we qualify. Gonna shoot you a message with contact info - if you have a chance, get back to me! Thanks!
