SE. MN. Not many awake here.
Shalom. Thank you for your response and I have to say, I was thinking the same thing. Everybody must be fishing. Well that's two families that are known to be awoke here in MN.
Funny you said Fishing. Today is my day off and went fishing!! However, fish are full on Mayflies and did not catch anything
Catfish are biting
Like you said @Cherie "Is there anybody out there?" There are. I had a great conversation with an individual yesterday regarding a MAG. Not going to OPSEC him with out his permission, but he may be within what you would consider acceptable distance for a MAG. Hopefully you have enjoyed your day off.
Squirrel no worries mate, when I found out where you were @Cherie was the first person whom came to mind when I was posting "long distance mag" there's another guy up north almost due east of your AO that I'm meeting on air this Saturday when I'm home. My current location is somewheres in northern Indiana
Thanks... Yes, the day off helped get my mind off of work! Went Fishing with my Husband. He is in agreement that there are so many things going on that it would only take one to tip it over. I am not sure if he is ready for a MAG but he has exceptional skills to contribute. Glad you were able to connect with somebody else in our area. The Father spoke clearly to me this Morning and gave me orders. His timing is perfect. Shalom
And so it begins. @Cherie my wife is in the same boat as your husband. She has taken our children to a disaster preparedness course that teaches basic first aid and what to do when a disaster strikes, she did not even tell me, I found out on Facebook lol. However her going to a MAG meeting would not bode well for me, at this time. Her train of thought is just different. She believes either the Gov will provide assistants or if not, she can handle it. Cherie if you could attend a MAG meeting, what informational classes would you like to see? Shalom
Radio Communication, Land Navigation not GPS but Compass and Map reading. I have an idea that most people are planning on Sheltering in place but that might not work out in a Disaster. (Situational) Foraging in our area, not just nuts and berries/ I know many edibles but not all. How about everyone else? I learned some things on the East Coast as a kid that are useful still today. Camp Fire Girl LOL. Shalom
Camp Fire Girls awesome, learning while having fun equals skills you will remember for life. I learned most of my preparedness skills in Boy Scouts three cheers for Camp Tomahawk. Then i found the internet that I thought I had to" buy my way" to be prepared with new plastic shinny stuff and gadgetry. Boy was I wrong.
As far as training classes go, I am kind of thinking Bugout Bag, First Aid, Land Navigation, and Radio Communication. In no particular order of importance. Just an idea but the classes could have a theme to them. In this case I had "Bugging Out" for the theme. Could keep the classes simple at 30 to 45 min a piece. Finish the class with a mile walk with your bugout bag on a basic land navigation coarse while using a radio to communicate current locations or issues. Fist class Bugout Bag, we can use this as an ice breaker and have people whom what to participate (if someone wants to keep their stuff private no problem) "dump" there bags and take turns explaining what they think are the most important part of their gear is. Second class could be a basic First Aid course covering the injuries that may occur during a bugout. For example how to treat blisters, sunburn, cuts, tick bites, insect bites, dehydration, hypothermia, and heat stroke. Third class can be how to use a mobile radio to send and receive messages and understand its capabilities and limitations. 4th class can be a basic Navigation class on how to use map and compass and keeping track of distance traveled.
But I am game for whatever folks would like to do. If people wanted to to a Shelter in Place theme I would be more than willing to assist were I can. Shalom
@Big Squirrel youâve put some thought into this.
@Ron Impens yes he has, @Big Squirrel @Cherie are both excellent in their respective fields. I must admit I tend to seek their input often.
Hey I'm from the frozen north. Central Minnesota myself.
Awesome... Welcome aboard Lunchbox @Cherie and @Big Squirrel are two very awesome people. I'm in Wisconsin but being born in Minnesota has to count for something, right?
Welcome Lunchbox!!!!!
Welcome aboard @Lunchbox . You found a great group of people here.
Thanks for the warm welcome. Patriotic trucker you a driver as well? I haul flat bed for a living. I'm down this week with pneumonia. Are you guys on bears patreon?
@Lunchbox yes, to all of the above. Currently in Milwaukee and heading for Kentucky tonight
Hey Lunchbox.. Pneumonia is nothing to play with. I work in Healthcare and am friends with Patriotic Trucker. He is a good man. Very smart as well.
Hey check this out... From a survey of 1.5 million people, I'd like to have all y'all know that, Minnesota was ranked No. 1 as the friendliest state in America.
Minnesota Nice. Thatâs what they call us.
It must be all the Scandinavians eh?
@Patriotic Trucker No idea. Iâm 1/2 Italian and 1/2 German. Germans tend to be determined and stubborn. Italians are passionate people. Art, Music, Flushing Toilets came right out of the Roman Empire!
@Cherie I always heard Wisconsin was for Germans and Minnesota was for us blasted Norwegians lol either way, a good ale is never far from our tables.
The Italian s were Green Grocers when they came here and my g. Grandfather was a Cobbler. Made not just shoes but all kinds of Leather goods. My Italian Grandfather made Teeth. Excellent food and great Wine also Italian
Very few Italian Americans here. I do speak some Italian. Like a 3 year old but enough to say Capice ! Order food. Flirt, Ciss and Compliment. đ

@Big Squirrel Hey, we are bracing to receive RECOVERING COVID19 Patients from Mayo Clinic at our Facility. Last week so SO STRESSFUL! Our census is very low, so they laid people off. One CNA just returned to us from having the Virus đŚ .! Only 23, NO health conditions. Please pray for us on the frontline. Thanks!!
Hows everyone doing? Whats it look like in your area?
Very stressful at work. Been putting in a GARDEN like every year. However, this year way more containers and Various Heirloom seeds. Gardening helps my stress level off.
