Anyone have a sure non-chemical way of ridding your garden of Stick Tight weeds. These are about 4 to 5 feet tall now. They have yellow flowers roughly the size of a toddler's pinky finger nails and 3/8 to 3/4 inch long spear like seeds with three barbed prongs at one end of each seed. For the last two years these plants have been my bane.

The only non chemical sure fire way is to pick them when they are small or hoe them. Hoeing does not get all the roots. If the leaves are big like Rhubarb it is burdock. If the leaves are smaller like palm size it is cockelbur. Both are bad. Good luck.
Thanks, when its small it looks like the tops of carrots.
How big are the seeds? Like thumb nail size or smaller?
About 3/8 to 3/4 inch long by less than 1/16 inch wide. They have a three prong set of barbs at one end that makes the seed resemble a miniature frog gig spear.
I think you're talking about spanish needles. They are hard to get rid of due to the massive amount of seeds they put out. For a small area i would try tarping the ground to kill the seeds. Other than that just pull them before they go to seed. After a few years the seed bank in the soil should deplete. Side note google spanish needles the scientific name made me chuckle, and they are medicinal if all else fails.
What state are you in? This last description does not sound like either of the two I mentioned
