A little over a year ago I started having a feeling that something bad was coming, I believe God was poking me in the side trying to get my attention. Since then I have been trying to prepare for what that might be.
My wife and I live in Southern Wyoming high up near the mountains. We have a small 32 acre farm where we raise our own hay, chickens (at present 60 layers and 24 meat birds) and 9 beef cows with calves. Our latest edition, a Jersey/Guernsey cross calved yesterday and the milk is already starting to come in. I will be building a milking parlor in part of our barn so that milking can be done indoors out of the winter weather.
We are stacking food to the rafters. We had a very successful hunting season last fall and our freezers are still full. Yesterday I completed another canned food organizer and mounted it to the wall.
The weather is still fairly cold here, but we have started a raised bed garden and planted vegetables. After 7 weeks, our 4 season greenhouse finally arrived and will be installed as soon as I can find time. Looking forward to a fall garden.
This whole Covid 19 mess brought my wife and I closer together, planning together, talking more. I have renewed my relationship with God and thank Him for not only speaking to me of this coming mess, but giving me guidance and the abilities to attain a more independent lifestyle. And I thank Him for you Bear, through Him through you you have helped me, thank you.
We have several contacts in our small community with like minded friends that serve as a local MAG. I am studying for my HAM radio license and am budgeting for an Amendment 1 Preparedness canned ham next month.
