I work at Kroger in East Texas. Coca-cola and Dr. Pepper vendors said that there is currently an aluminum shortage. These companies in my area are not producing "odd-ball" flavors in 12 packs because they do not have enough aluminum to produce every flavor that they have. They are currently only producing the most popular flavors. The vendors and order writers for these brands have said that it is very likely that we will not have any 12 packs of soda by the 4th of July. The vendors said that there will still be 6 packs of twist top bottles and 2 liters, just nothing in cans. One of my managers told me this was also the case for Pepsi, but they did not work at the same time as I did today so I did not get to talk to the vendor directly. I do not know how widespread this aluminum shortage is or how long it will last.
