This was a Protest for the man killed in Minneapolis. Last night anarchy broke out in Denver around the capitol. It started off peacefully but gunshots rang out infront of the capitol causing things to spiral out of control. "Protesters" and cops exchanged words and then things started getting thrown at cops. The capitol was spray pianted with a hammer & sickle, BLM, the anarchy symbol and many other not so nice things. They broke windows at the capitol and started destroying cars. One "protester" got hit and ran over by a car trying to get through after the "protesters" surrounded him or her and started climbing on the vehicle. People where doing donuts and burnouts in this area. After a certain point DPD had enough and started pepper balling the the unruly crowd and deployed a ton of tear gas through the rest of thr night. It sounded like a war zone or maybe better yet a fireworks show. The crowd largely disappeared and mulled about in other parts of down town or went home. Someone in a house was shining a high powerd Lazar at one of the news helicopters trying to blind them. Clearly they will be in deep crap if that was their house. Only thing lit on fire was a trash can. Earlier in the day they shut down the major highway running north and south through Denver not far from the capitol. It's Friday so I think you can bet this weekend will be worse then last night. This is not normal in Denver. Never seen or heard of this happening ever here. Probably the second most chaotic protest out side of the twin cities. Hope this helps!
