I’ll also note that we enacted ”social distancing“ measures 10 days ago. Our cases are low, but people packed into stores over that time period. We have VERY small and limited health resources. But mostly, people are distancing and we have a lot of ranchers, but alternatively in our towns there are quite a few paycheck to paycheck folks... so it will be interesting to see how America’s smallest big State fares in it all.
Health workers are scrambling, as the few 6 figure salaried hospital management folks sit on their hands. I’m coordinating with a local MD that sits on the board of a non profit clinic... and she is mobilizing like crazy! Administration continues to sit on their hands and expect handouts.... ie, expecting bailouts and calling for local unemployed citizens to work for free, not even accounting for costs of materials. This state is on a precipice, meaning that we can learn from the knowledge coming from other places or stubbornly refuse. We have the best option to be a example to limit transmissions, seeing as we have low population and many people already subside regularly.... but we are also dangerous because we share limited resources (grocery stores, for example) and our normally admirable hard headed Cowboy attitude has most folks in denial of reality. Pray for Wyoming, please.
