Good day everyone. My wife and I have been into homesteading for about a year. We have about 3 acres here in eastern ohio. We have goats, chickens, quail and rabbits. We had a good size garden last year and plan for an even bigger one this year. God has been very good to us and has blessed us greatly. We are in our early 50's and are in ok shape although the joints can ache after a long day of it. lol. We live on a busy state highway out in the country, so the property is not really ideal if shtf but not bad otherwise. Just saying hi to everyone! God bless and have a great day!

Good to hear from you. I am in my 50s. Rent in the middle of the city on about a 1/2 acre. Have 7 chickens, 3 rabbits. Wife said "NO GOATS!", so, I don't have any goats yet. LOL Started our little 'trial', or 'experiment' garden spring of 2020. Bought seeds from stores, and tried a few of the heirloom survival seeds I had bought. All my plants ended up short like me! Imagine that! Short guy ended up with midget plants! Go figure. Oh well. I still managed to save a LOT of seeds, while enjoying some eating as well. I probably saved a million lettuce seeds! 😎 First lessons: Raised beds were not raised enough, and commercial soil compacted over time ending up not deep enough for root growth over existing compacted/depleted yard soil. Figure that is what happened. AND THAT!... is why Bear told us to get out there and START NOW! LOL Great learning experience. BTW....I did not ever expect 7 chickens would produce more eggs than we would ever be able to eat. Trying to find local others to bless with some eggs. 3 acres sounds nice. Just remember, if an EMP were to hit, be it man-made, or God-made, you being next to the highway won't bother you for a good while. Take care and God watch over you all.
lol! great to hear from you! God Bless!!
