Hey Bear Nation! We just started following Bear Independent a few weeks ago. So happy to find like minded people. My wife, kids and I are all the way up here in Northeastern Montana. We've been preparing for hard times over the past few years, learning as we go. With the state of things going on in our world I'm not too sure how much more time we'll have before our learning becomes more of a crash course. We'd thought we had a pretty good handle on things until we started listening to Bear. It's good to know about the holes we have in our preparations so we can get started in fixing them but a little disheartening too. Also I hadn't realized the importance of forming up in a group but I see now that being on our own isn't going to work very well. Someday soon we hope to relocate to a milder climate. Right now we live in Glasgow, a rural town of less than 4,000 people which is okay, but forty below will be hard to survive in without electricity and with little firewood to be found! Would love to hear from anyone within a few hours drive and maybe get to know you and see if we would want to form up into some kind of group. My email is coreymiller1969@gmail.com if anyone wants to reach me.
Thanks.
Hello from South Eastern ND. I too worry about those -40 nights with no firewood to be found. I grew up in rural North GA/Eastern TN where all we used was fire wood for heat. So the lack of trees here is concerning for me from a survivability stand point.
Hello There: I am in Helena, MT. Nice to see your post.
Cheers.
I live north of Circle off 13. I know and have worked with several great guys from Glascow. Ive been preparing for the worst and praying for the best for many years now.
Hello, Townsend MT guy myself.
