New to the forum, but I've been following bear and his videos since before it became bear independent. I've always lived in the Houston area, but the goal is to get land of my own one day. I'm currently a stay at home dad to a 2.5 year old during the day and I deliver pizzas at night while I am now trying to go back to school. Not the most glamorous career, but I'm just trying to get by. I don't have the best budget in the world, but we are trying to get our crap together as best we can. Looking forward to meeting yal.

Are you in a group or looking? One is forming in the Conroe area if you are intereste.
I'm not in a group currently. Kinda putting out feelers to see what's even around the Houston area. Been hard for me to even be social cause I work six nights a week. But I do enjoy meeting new people for sure.
@sean_mikel keep your nose on the grindstone and work towards your goals. I'm a couple hours east. Holler if you need something I'll help if I can.
I appreciate it brother, the grind never stops. Even though things tend to always feel out of reach lol. Stay safe out there. And likewise. Hows things been in your neck of the woods as of late? It's been fairly calm here in the Houston area.
Hey Bear. I work at the Cabela's in louisiana . We are deemed as an essential business because we sell food. Actually we sell candy not food but all aside from that I have taken a leave of absence. I work at the gun counter and in hunting. We are completely out of ammo for pistols . All the 223.556,v 308 rifle ammo and also 22LR has been cleaned out. The only rifles we have are bolt hunting guns. Pistols are out we sold the last Glocks and Sigs last friday. Revolvers were still in stock at that time. I will not be working till the Kung Flu has abated. I'm 66 and have underlying issues. 50% of our customers are from south of Baton Rouge and that area is a hot spot. So I'm bunkering down. Bear please do not forsake youtube . We who can not afford patreon rely on you and others and I can not afford to support 4 or 5 Patreon channels for information. My income now is 850 dollars a month from my widows pension. Not being able to work is putting a hurt on me. Remember the word of the saviour was free then and now follow his example. He is in control. Amen
Good luck and stay safe.
Greetings from Katy. I'm new too.
Howdy from Jasper County...6 of my tribe are in Spring (2 are deployed at present)...

Welcome brother, nice to see fellow se texas people.
Welcome Michael. Stay tuned, I'm hoping to get a meet together this fall...if the Big Bugaloo doesn't get us all first...
Howdy from Grimes county! Some of us through Viking Preparedness where having meetups in the Conroe area before the tyranny kicked into another gear. Hope To resume soon. The organizer is HPD and I’m sire he’s pretty tied up in riot gear and all that. We had people from all over in the last meetup about 45 peeps. Bastrop to Baytown to jasper and Tyler.
@The Grinch any news on this?
Like to get in touch with your Jasper guy... he's closest to my area...if you can, put him in touch with me...I think my email is in my profile...if not, I'll put it in..
I don‘t have his contact info. The organizer of the group is Houston PD so he’s pretty tied up at the moment. If I can get it I’ll send it.
Sounds good.
Is anyone organizing around the Houston area? Given recent events, I think making some friends quickly might be in everyone’s best interests.
I'm on the SE side. You?
I fish a lot in the Hitchcock / Bayou Vista area. I put in at Louis’ bait camp. If you want to tag along sometime, let me know.
We’re up north in the woods.
@Jay Travis glad one of us is, I'm trying to get up there somewhere myself.
Lots of us up in the Montgomery County and Grimes County areas. Not taking any new members at this time but I have over 20 years experience in off-grid Power Systems I'm a licensed HVAC contractor and licensed ham radio operator if your tribe needs any mutual assistance please let me know
“Not taking any new members”? ... ok, glad you guys have all the men and equipment you think you need.
12 years as a 68W for a line unit, plenty of time downrange AD and DOD, civilian EMT-I and I’ve spent the last decade in my civilian career as a professional project manager.

Jay,
We tend not to add members just prior to major events like elections, end of word dates etc. Most folks think of prepping as a hobby rather than a lifestyle. People come and go over the years and we find that quality members are ones who are not focused on one event or date that comes and goes. As you build your core group you can look at things differently. Quality over quantity. We are not desperate for numbers. We learned many years ago that a small quality group that functions well is much better than a big one that is disorganized with people coming and going all the time. Congrats on your tech ticket. I highly recommend getting your general. Maybe catch you on the 02 machine some time...
@Texas Frontiersman
Frontiersman,
That makes sense I suppose, but wouldn’t you agreed that the current circumstances are somewhat extraordinary? I’m not a “prepper”. This is neither a lifestyle, nor a hobby for me and my family. I’m simply a guy who can see the writing on the wall.
That‘s not to say that we are aloof. My wife and I are nowhere near unprepared, we just haven’t yet created the opportunity to make many friends who share our concern for the state of things... I was under the impression that is what this forum was for.
Well, Sean... I guess it’s a club, and we ain’t in it.
