Hello, or as I like to say Howdy from the Texas Hill Country. I am new to these forums, but I have been "prepping" for many years now. My parents and grandparents lived though the Great Depression and I now find myself slowly migrating to a more self-sufficient lifestyle. I enjoy watching various YouTube channels to see what others are thinking about and what kind of projects that they are tackling. My guess is if you're on this forum we already have a lot in common. I am not too interested in splitting hairs over the best knife, firearm, rucksack, or newfangled gizmo, but I have nearly 60 years of life's lessons which usually steer me in the right direction. My philosophy on tools....if you're going to use or depend on it buy the best you can afford. Always happy to hear the opinions of others and how they formed them.
My background is in small business and residential construction. Presently working on off grid facility for family retreat, hunting camp, and possible BOL in a worst case scenario. Grew up around a small farming community and rural lifestyle. However, I am presently living the dream in small town America. I have an interest in gardening, tinkering and researching. Wish the internet had been around 40 years ago because it places so much information instantly at your fingertips. I have an insatiable curiosity for how things work. I am also a licensed Technician Class Ham radio operator although I don't actively use it. Really just for my peace of mind if I ever needed to have it.
Hope to find other like minded individuals here with whom I can exchange ideas or experiences. Looking forward to it. God Bless!
