My husband and I are Texas born and bred. But, life throws you curves and we are now moving to the Ozarks. We have been preparing for SHTF for about 8 years. That does not equate to prepared. It just means we have been working toward being prepared. Hopefully this is our last big step. We have been learning skills and acquiring preps along the way. I love canning and food preservation and he is learning solar and ham radio right now. So, hopefully others will jump in and introduce themselves too!!!!
Search
My hubby and I have been searching out property in OK/AK too. We hope to find a place and move before the election.
@reneestump, just to tryin to help a Bear Nation sister out, what kind of property are y'all looking for? I may have a lead for ya.
@JS Badger basic homestead... dream property would be 20+ acres, 2 houses, with all the trimmings... wells, ponds, out buildings, fencing, on grid but out of the town, etc. feel free to message me leads/ideas
@reneestump my apologies. Everything i find is mostly raw land or "old one room cabin" things.
Too bad your leaving Texas. Stay safe and switched on.
Glad you're here Melissa
Can we trade email?
My wife and I are an hour away from ozark mountains. We moved from Montana to Oklahoma to get to a safer place. We have a small farm but have only been here for 4 months and haven’t had time to do enough to keep it protected should something happen and our plan is to bug out to the ozarks. Maybe we could trade emails with any ozark bear nation folks and try to build a relationship and have a network.
I'm not in the Ozarks, but am in Missouri! We're in NE Missouri. Just a hop, skip and really long jump to the Ozarks. Shalom and Welcome! We're also looking for a new home, one already standing, because husband is suffering from major back injury and also PTSD. Not much available around us, close to his physicians, that is.
Hello in new and kinda unsure if this is real. I can’t believe there are so many other people that think like me. I’m looking for a place I can come and live and work and get back to something that will survive the future.
You've come to the right place, Broken Warrior. Everyone here is kind, helpful and doing the same as you! Ask your questions, share your thoughts; the hommies here will help you out! Shalom and welcome!
Praying y'all had a easy transition and enjoying life in the beautiful ozarks.
I just started prepping 4months ago. I was raised on a farm in Iowa but now in the mountains in South Oregon. I plan to put in a garden and have tons of water, food for 3 months and am a Registered Nurse so I have first aid covered. I have a start. What I dont have is people. I am a widow with no family here. I am here to make a support system. This seems like a friendly place to do that.
Have my heart set on the Ozarks too!! In San Antonio now....so beautiful there!!
