My name is Honey. I'm married to the universe's most amazing daddy and hubby who is in Heaven holding our 10 angels. I've 4 amazing monkeys that work hard and enjoy eating so they take farming seriously. They are 12-21 years old. My oldest is highly functioning autistic and has AutoBrewery Syndrome. My second is adopted and is pre-diabetic.
I run a small farm of 2.8 acres which feeds the kids and I pasture raised pork (AGH), duck(muscovies), chicken(heritage breeds), turkey( Narragansett) and soon we will have rabbits (rex and NZ). I had dairy goats(Nigerian Dwarf and mini LaMancha) for years until I lost the farm after my Sexy Beast of a hubby passed away and I've hopes to get them soon too. Our next project is quail and bees and a milk cow. We have lived here for a year and I'm still working on building the soil and improving the pasture.
We currently live in zone 7 Tennessee and moved here from zone 5 Ohio. I've a garden and process the harvest using dehydration and fermentation. Canning is left for meats and tomato as it's expensive and time consuming to do. I'm rebuilding the solar dehydrator I had to leave behind and am setting up ways to utilize vining veggies to keep our house cool in summer and warm in winter without increasing our electric costs.
We homeschool and have always done so and I'm down to just 2 kids to school now. We use herbs, homeopathy, essential oils and whole foods for healing. We are a Christian family and have felt God's hand holding us tight especially since the day Ben passed of a blood clot. If anyone deserves a vacation in heaven it is him. I work from home helping bloggers and small business with their social media presence. It helps to pay the bills so if you find a funny meme PLEASE send it to me. ;)
I'd love to connect with others nearby to learn from and teach what we know. I'm especially interested in learning how to protect my children better, healing pre-diabetes and how to forage TN wilds. I'm also working to dig a storm shelter/root cellar. I'm a new patreon subscriber and only found Bear a few weeks ago but the kids and I are enjoying everything we have seen and are watching.
