Nice to meet everyone in this community. My name is Pete, I am from Marietta, GA, married with 2 teenage boys. I am pretty new to the prepping thing. I have been working on it since this summer. I felt the Lord lay on my heart to start preparing for something to come. I am blessed that my wife is on board. We are in a pretty good spot from a preparedness side with the time that we have had. Been building community in my neighborhood and at a house we have the North Carolina mountains. Started a small group this fall with men in my neighborhood and it has been really neat to see who is showing up. No one that I originally had in mind, but we can see the Lord moving.
I am trying to figure out if we should move to the mountains full time, but it is difficult with teenagers and them wanting to stay in school here and play sports. We also have a great church body in Marietta, but we have a great church in the mountains as well. It is my job to lead, but it is difficult to make that radical of a jump.
I look forward to getting to know you.
God Bless,
Pete
Hi Pete. I am on the other side of Atlanta between Lawrenceville and Snellville in the town of Grayson. Been in this location for 35 years. In Atlanta area since 1966. Looking to move due to the change in demographics and consequently an increased crime rate. If I were you, a move to the mountains would be a no-brainer. Hopefully your kids are in a Christian school. The public indoctrination centers are doing a number on kids. Welcome aboard.
Hello Steve. Thanks for the response. It is a difficult decision for us, at least in the short term. My job is more easily done from Atlanta. We will likely relocate once the boys are out of school, but we have moved them around a bit and they are pretty settled where they are. If things get worse the timeline could change. They are in Christian Schools. I completely agree about public schools.
