Hello everyone! Good bless bear and all of you! Northeast Texas here. Fannin County. Although I'm not an EXPERT by any means or definition, since childhood I have been in to wildlife, wilderness survival, and primitive tools and weapons, and have always loved the forests and swamps. In short, primitive skills provide minimalist survival abilities. I have an Associate in Natural Resources Management, with emphasis on farm, fisheries and wildlife management, as my childhood goal was to be a wildlife officer- but that's a story for another day. I was a professional flintknapper for many years with emphasis on arrows, spears and stone knives (shipped all over theworld). I'M A SHORT NEANDERTHAL, born 10,000 years to late!! đ
I also was/am a boom-stick lover, but could never afford them, and materials for primitive tools and weapons are pretty much free if you know where and how to collect them! Also since childhood, I have had that gut feeling that something is going to happen within my lifetime. I basically grew up preparing myself for a life in the woods, running, hiding, etc., ALONE. Then I stopped listening to my Father. Then I got married. Then I had kids. Multiple kids! &...Multiple kiddos later... and finally seeking my Creator again, here comes that nagging feeling of "get prepared!". So... I got my first totes of 3 months of dehydrated food 4 patriots, and the bug grew stronger. Realizing I could not drag my family into the woods for a nomadic life on the run, I started researching and doing, and before I heard anyone saying it, had already stole my wife's straightener and mini shop vac, and I can tell ya a small shop vac is a great tool for removing all the air from your food bags (even flour & baking soda) with the little car cleaning attachment, and also that there are different storage options for your foods. In a short amount of time, I had a great amount of food and survival supplies stored, the whole time my family thinking I've lost my everluvin mind- I'm paranoid- a conspiracy theorist- etc, letting me know it with their actions but not their words, forcing me to be a [closet prepper]!
In a nutshell about me (& no, that's not a short joke!), I consider myself a college educated redneck survivalist-wannabe. There's some info about me. Now the question is... Whooo... r... U? Look forward to meeting all of you I can. Take care and God bless you all.
Hey Northeast Texas-? Welcome I like your description on your roots and way in the prepper path. My blood line is Carrizo indigenous. Spanish put my ancestors to work building places like the Alamo in the 1700s. Take care glad you have family--that's a good blessing. Happy New Year.
Turock, good to hear from ya. Thank you. Happy New Year to you also.
