Sure wish we were a bit closer. I'd def join you.
Traye, I think you're in sort of a dead zone. There are a bunch of people in the Springfield/Branson area and we have our little group in the Jeff City area, but I don't see many folks on the forums in your area. We are going to continue our meetings monthly so if you get a wild hair and decide to take a trip, come on up, we would be happy to see you.
Is anyone in the Montgomery, Audrain, Pike aria?
Hi Jerry, I do not know where many of the people planning to come to the meeting on 1/10, but it does look like there will be quite a few folks joining us. It is possible you could find someone nearby.
Just a reminder, this is next week. Many people have responded and we are excited to meet all of you!
So far the weather looks like it will be cold, but dry. We will have fire to keep warm, but please remember to dress for cold weather. Also, please remember to email me so that you can get the latest updates. In case of inclement weather we will be moving to an indoor location. I will try to keep this updated, but email will be more reliable.
Due to the number of people that have responded, please bring camping chairs if you wish to sit.
See you all soon,
Thorne

Central Missouri HAPS Meeting 1/10/2021 AAR
It was determined that the group would be called HAPS (Homestead and Preparedness Skills).
There were 23 adults and several children in attendance ranging from Kansas City to central Illinois. One person travelled 4 and a half hours to join us. There were several from the greater St. Louis Metro area including a representative of the St. Louis MAG. The people in the St. Louis area residents were encouraged to get contact info for the St. Louis MAG representative. It was noted that it is both encouraging to see so many like minded folks from across such a wide area coming together to form a community and concerning that people feel the need to travel as far as they have for those reasons.
Introductions took approximately 45 minutes. There was a brief introduction to fire building skills. There were a lot of valuable tips and tricks from the attendees. First aid kit tips were reviewed and again there was a lot of input from the people who joined. At this point everyone was asked to say what they liked about the presentations and what could have been done better. The big take-aways were that everyone appreciated the attendance and that there is a potential communication gap when using the Bear and Viking forums if there are any updates, specifically to the location of the meeting. After this exercise there was a hands-on workshop on storing wheat in buckets. Those that did not participate in the food storage workshop took part in fellowship. There was discussion on HAM and unconventional comms.
I wanted to personally thank everyone that was able to make it to the meeting, especially those that drove from outside the state. I sincerely hope we were able to make the trip worthwhile.
Thank you for coming and participating,
Thorne
