We can blame objects a lot easier than we can blame ourselves. And interesting article I just read I thought I'd share a bit with all of you. As we embark on establishing a homestead or prepared Community let us not forget to pack our moral judgments. The guiding principals that tell us what it just and morally right.
Our nation’s founders understood the importance of faith and morality working hand in hand in our republic to restrain the worst of our human nature. George Washington in his farewell address at the end of his second term as president included several pieces of advice for preserving America's prosperity, security and happiness.
He observed: "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”
Washington was not alone in this conviction. John Adams, the second president of the United States, recognized the limitations of our laws. In speaking to the Massachusetts militia, Adams said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
Some will be quick to say that nearly 250 years later, America has moved beyond the faith that inspired nation builders. That is a tragedy. Today our culture increasingly marginalizes public faith and religion, pushing it from the public square. But in the process, we've lost public morality, common decency and virtue, which are essential to freedom.
To achieve security for our families and communities while preserving the freedom that has made America great, we have only one option: Restore morality by renewing our commitment to the free exercise of religion. In other words, we should protect, not prevent, religious freedom.

While i wholeheartedly agree with your...sentiment seems such an inadequate word, but you know what i mean...it is unfortunate that the polar opposite of what we are has taken that and flipped it to where it is a tool that they use to further break us apart. We should continue to gather those like us together, and rais our children in a non-"modern" manner, get back to basics while not being naive about all of this tearing down that is occurring around us, like a snowball effect. Shalom.
This is an argument frequently used in places like the UK where in some sort of cosmic roll of the dice you have UK citizens actively seeking out the elimination of religious freedom in order to control a specific radical religion from expanding in the UK. They have a large number of Christians by name and tradition who know little to nothing at all of scripture and most certainly do not actively seek out a personal relationship with the designer, creator and giver of life. To them Christianity is a ritual or formality passed on from generation to generation and they are content with just belonging to something of old in this fashion with no further obligation expected on their part.
Sadly, here in the U.S we have something far worse. We have an all out active war on faith in its entirety and in every form. It is subtle but gaining ground every year. Much like the black civil rights movement that was usurped by the LGBTQ movement before it was completed, we are all facing a similar usurpation of our culture and rights by the same communist that dropped family unit and faith destroying propaganda into every American community by infiltrating the national education system. It is like a pyramid scheme that millions have been seduced and conditioned into and spreading out into every American town and city not fully understanding the consequences of what chipping away at the moral fabric of our society will have.
Many Godless ones now see that we are all here for about 70-80 years and without consequences beyond this short life, what is keeping them from wanting to see the world or a school, shopping mall, Wal Mart, movie theater burn before they go? Most folks on this forum cannot grasp to what extent complete atheism has spread in newer generations. Newsweek predicts that by 2050 fewer than 20% of Americans will believe in a creator and you know what? I fully believe that number. If you aren't studying the Bible as a family and praying together, you have 100% failed your children and they WILL pay the consequences when out in this critical and difficult system.
We as a nation in whole or in part has systematically removed the moral teaching that once guided ourselves and younger generations. Beliefs in a higher power, something bigger than ourselves was Paramount to our society and it has been eroded to it's current state that to some, seeing anyone give thanks to a "imaginary flying thing in the sky" for something is completely foreign to them. You work, you get paid, you buy food, you eat... They do not see how God had any role in it. To them, maybe we shold just tank themselves for answering the employment want ad?
But I digress. The point the opinion was trying to make is there is the argument that "firearms make people kill" if that was the case explain Cain and Able, did the rock "make him do it?" Not at all. We are seeing the physical effects of the decay of our morality because we as a nation chose to ignore it.
Absolutely agree.
No Torah, no point!
praise God and pass the ammunition... :)
