Hey everyone! I’m new to the forums. Been following Bear for a bit now. I’ve had an interesting spiritual journey throughout my life. I’ve investigated quite a few churches and haven’t really found one that feels like home. Hearing some of the unique names Bear uses when he discusses the Bible peaked my curiosity. I google some terms and discovered Messianic Judaism which has me very intrigued.
Is this the religion that Bear identifies with? What Bible translation does he use? I’d love to investigate further but feel a little lost. I hope some of you can help!
Brother Bear reads from the Scriptures. You can get a copy through...
www.grindstoneministries.com
That's what I did and I like it. I am currently making a leather cover for it to give it some protection.
Keep the Faith Brother!
Thank you! I don't know how I missed that on his site. Lol.
It is The Scriptures and Messianic is very close, but no cigar 😀 Yes, you can order from Grindstone Ministries but you can also order through Bear's store. If you can't afford one, please ask for one through admin@bearindependent.com with your name & address and one will be sent to you. Shalom Brother! 🤗
When it comes to torah observant people, you may have an interesting time trying to find good and appropriate search terms to get you to where you want to be. :) Wear your tall boots, for all of the mud and sludge that you might have to walk through, researching online. The Scriptures is very good. You can also try the Tree of Life version, which you can read for free via BibleGateway.com . It can be a good resource, if you are short on funds. Personally, I tend to read from the ESV with my littles, because the language is easier for them. We use Hebrew names as much as possible, especially when referring to the Most High, and also for holy days, so the kiddos get used to the words/terms. But, whatever is on your shelf, or browser window, is a good place to start.
If you go to Bear's videos, you will find appropriate content for Torah Obsevant Christians. It would also benefit you to read Leviticus and Deuteronomy as those tell you about Festivals celebrated and foods to eat and avoid. I choose to read The Scriptures and King James Version as I grew up Southern Baptist and I am more familiar with KJV and therefore understand the Word in The Scriptures better. Join Bear's Bible studies too! He explains things extremely well.
I can also recommend computer software, e-Sword. There are others as well.
Benefit is that you can download multiple bible versions within the software and do comparisons. This will help your studies. There are 2 versions of The Scriptures available to download. e-Sword is free and donations to the developer can be made. There are some bible versions that need to be purchased, but a lot are available inside the program for free.
There are bible version apps for cell phones as well.
